I have found cleats to be invaluable. I use them to hang stringers, anchors, bait buckets, and to tie off to things. They run less than $5 at the big box stores, and can be installed with simple deck screws. I have two on each side!

Would you use well nuts or just screw the deck screw strait in the yak?
